Active Listening
Just a thought…
Today is a great day to practice active listening.
What should you do? Absorb more information than you give.
You would be amazed as to how much you can discover… and control during these conversations. Sometimes silence is power.

Well said.
People often say that listening is an important leadership tool. I an looking for evidence that this is true and examples of leaders who are great listeners. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the comment!
You will often find that 99% of the great leaders spend the majority of their time listening, just as good writers spend more time reading than writing. I think Stephen King once said to be a great writer, one must read 8 hours per day and write for 6 - the quote isn’t exact, but you see where I am going with this.
I think the evidence of effective listening and decision-making is seen everywhere around you. If you are on your phone during an entire lecture, would you absorb any information? Probably not. How could one make an educated decision without having the knowledge to fortify it?
