Growing Business Awards Names Young Entrepreneurs of the Year

Oliver Bishop (left) of Steak Media and Dan McGuire (right) of Broadbean Technology (web 2.0verkill?) were announced as the winners of the Young Entrepreneurs Award, as chosen by the Growing Business Awards. This was the first time the judges announced two winners for the Young Entrepreneur Award. Hats off to them! The Growing Business Awards is an awards ceremony to honor A-List British Entrepreneurs. The awards ceremony is co-hosted by Real Business and the CBI.
Here is a description of the qualifications for the award:
This new award identifies and celebrates entrepreneurs, under the age of 30, who are really going places. The judges are looking for candidates who have already started to build a business (or businesses), and who can show they have the ambition, energy, skill and vision to really scale the heights.
Specific qualities that the judges will consider are:
* The track record of the candidate in starting and running a business or businesses.
* The idea behind the current business together with the robustness of the business model.
* The performance of the current business including sales and profit growth.
* Plans in store for the business, and how these will be achieved.
To all of those Brits out there who wanted it, but didn’t get it - better luck next year!
