Oh Crap Situation 11: Picking Sides
You see where this is going already. You partnered up with two of your friends to start a business (go figure), and you decided it would be a good idea to make a product dedicated to text messaging (hypothetically, of course). One friend really wants to create an entire piece of hardware for this. He already has a few investors lined up, but isn’t sure whether it would profit since there is already a product out that does more than that (the cell phone?). Your other friend wants to code software that sends text messages. Instead of being an entire device, it would be a much more convenient messaging system for text-messaging devices already released (with VERY little overhead).
Both friends are split on the idea and you are caught in the middle. They decided that their ideas are “do or die.” Basically, they are committed to their idea, regardless of what you say. Both have the means to create their product. Whose side do you pick?
