Oh Crap Situation 6: The Manager

Relatively speaking, business is booming. Everything is panning out as you have planned. Your product practically markets itself, and your staff is working like a symphony to get everything in order and ready for shipments - each person building the company off of the other. Everything is going absolutely perfect… until you get the complaint. A critical employee complains about harassment from a manager. So what do you do? Well, you pull the manager into your office and see what’s up. The manager then says the EMPLOYEE is harassing him. After both parties are brought in, you decide that this trouble has been hurting efficiency. How do you settle this? You can’t relocate them since there is only one location - and if they both have a solid case against the other, do you gamble and fire one? Should you fire both? Remember, it would take a lot of training to get an employee of equal competence in both positions. What should you do?
